In astrology, a Hemisphere is one of the major halves of a natal chart formed by dividing the chart along its principal axes. The Ascendant–Descendant axis separates the chart into upper and lower hemispheres, while the Midheaven–Imum Coeli axis separates it into eastern and western hemispheres. Astrologers may examine the distribution of planets among these hemispheres to explore broader patterns of orientation, emphasis, and concentration within the chart. Hemisphere analysis is a structural technique and is generally considered alongside other chart divisions such as quadrants and house groupings.
