In astrology, Horary Astrology is a traditional method in which a chart is calculated for the time and place at which a clearly defined question is asked or formally received by the astrologer. Rather than beginning with a person’s birth chart, horary practice interprets the resulting chart in relation to the subject of the question. Particular houses, planetary rulers, aspects, dignities, and other chart conditions may be used to represent the people, circumstances, and relationships involved. Horary Astrology has a long history within Western astrological traditions and employs specialized interpretive rules that differ from ordinary natal-chart interpretation. Its conclusions are interpretive within an astrological framework and should not substitute for professional, legal, medical, financial, or other high-stakes advice.
