A natal chart, also called a birth chart, is a symbolic map of the sky calculated for a particular moment and location. In personal astrology, it is usually based on a person’s birth date, birth time, and birth location. The chart organizes factors such as the Sun, Moon, Planets, Zodiac Signs, Houses, chart angles, and Aspects into a single configuration. Astrologers interpret the relationships among these elements as a framework for exploring tendencies, patterns, strengths, tensions, and areas of potential development. A natal chart does not, by itself, determine a person’s choices or guarantee future events.
