Astrological House

One of the twelve divisions of a natal chart used in astrology to represent different areas of life and experience.

An Astrological House is one of twelve sections of a natal chart, each associated with particular areas of life, experience, and development. Houses are determined from the chart’s structure and, in most systems, depend on the exact birth time and location. Astrologers interpret the House occupied by a Planet or other chart factor as describing the area of life in which that factor may be expressed most directly. Common House themes include identity, resources, communication, home, creativity, relationships, shared matters, beliefs, public life, community, and inner experience. House interpretation is usually considered together with the Sign on the House cusp, the Planets placed within the House, and the Aspects connecting those factors to the rest of the chart.
