In astrology, an Astrological Return occurs when a transiting planet returns to approximately the same zodiacal position it occupied in a natal or other reference chart. The return marks the completion of that planet’s cycle and the beginning of another. Different planetary returns occur at very different intervals and may be interpreted in relation to the symbolism associated with the returning planet. Well-known examples include the Solar Return, which occurs approximately once each year, and the Saturn Return, which occurs roughly every twenty-nine years. Astrologers may use return charts and related techniques to explore periods of renewed emphasis, transition, reflection, or development. Astrological returns are interpretive timing tools and do not guarantee particular events or outcomes.
