Chart Angle

One of the principal reference points in an astrological chart, calculated from the specific time and location for which the chart is cast.

A Chart Angle is one of the principal reference points used to orient an astrological chart. The four primary angles are the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and Imum Coeli, each marking an important directional point in the chart and, in many House systems, the beginning of an angular House. Astrologers interpret these angles as significant because they connect the chart to the specific time and location for which it is calculated. Their positions can change relatively quickly as Earth rotates, making accurate birth time especially important in a natal chart. Chart angles are commonly interpreted together with their Zodiac Signs, nearby Planets, Aspects, House relationships, and the broader pattern of the chart.
