House Cusp

The boundary or starting degree of an Astrological House, marking where one House begins within a natal chart.

A House Cusp is the boundary or starting degree of an Astrological House within a natal chart. In many House systems, each of the twelve Houses begins at a specific degree of the zodiac, and that degree is called the House cusp. The Zodiac Sign occupying the cusp is often interpreted as influencing the style, qualities, or manner associated with that House’s area of life. Some of the most important cusps coincide with the principal Chart Angles, such as the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and Imum Coeli. The exact position of House cusps depends on the House system being used and, in most systems, on the precise time and location for which the chart is calculated.
