A Sun Sign is the Zodiac Sign in which the Sun was positioned at the time of a person’s birth. It is the part of astrology most commonly referenced in popular culture and is usually determined from the birth date alone. In a natal chart, however, the Sun Sign represents only one component of a much larger configuration that can also include the Moon, Planets, Houses, chart angles, and Aspects. Astrologers commonly associate the Sun with themes of identity, vitality, purpose, and self-expression, but a Sun Sign by itself does not represent the complete natal chart or define the whole person.
